What is a prodigal?

prod-i-gal adj. 1. wastefully or recklessly extravagant

Almost everyone in America could fall under this definition when compared to the rest of the world.

prodigal (biblical summary) – a reference to the parable of the lost son. (Luke chapter 15) It is in the context of the “lost sheep” and “lost coin” where all 3 parables are about the celebration of one who turns back from the error of their ways.

Would you agree that the world is getting worse or are we evolving to something higher?

There’s something wrong with the world today.

I don’t know what it is.

Something’s wrong with our eyes

We’re seeing things in a different way

And God knows it ain’t His

It sure ain’t no suprise, yeah

We’re livin’ on the edge!

– Aerosmith “Livin’ On the Edge”

A premier rock band could see it in 1993 – almost 30 years ago and it has only gotten worse.

My friends, all I’m trying to say is that if we are to go forward today, we’ve got to go back and rediscover some mighty precious values that we’ve left behind. That’s the only way that we would be able to make of our world a better world, and to make of this world what God wants it to be and the real purpose and meaning of it…

I am a prodigal son. This is a way back and the way forward.
